Placerville California’s Historic Main Street has wonderful shops, restaurants and lots of history!

Come home to Placerville where small town friendliness is a staple and the nostalgic charm of yesteryear is all around. The Placerville Downtown Association (PDA) hosts events and activities that promote a sense of community and build relationships that keep people coming back to Historic Main Street.

On Friday, November 23rd, join us on Main Street for the annual Festival of Lights where we kick of the Holiday Season by coming together and sharing a special moment.  This year we will have music and dancing at the Belltower, the Gold Rush Chorus will be singing in the courtyard behind the Cary House Hotel and we will have a holiday craft cocktail bar in front of Centro as well as street tacos and tamales for sale on the street.   The El Dorado High School Jazz Band and Choir will perform on the Courthouse steps followed by the El Dorado Roses throwing the ceremonial switch that will light the Christmas Tree on Main Street as well as all the trees on the freeway.  Santa will be seeing visitors at T.W. Bonkers Toy Store near the Belltower, too.  And get here early to take a ride on the Stage Coach from 4-6 pm.

Then on December 2nd, come back for the Annual Hangtown Christmas Parade sponsored by the Taylor family and the Hangman's Tree Ice Cream Saloon, Breaker Glass and El Dorado Disposal.  For more information go to hangtownchristmasparade.com.

From all of us on Main Street, we wish you a very Happy Holiday Season.
