MONTHLY, "Third Saturday"
6PM to 9PM Historic Downtown Placerville. Main Street galleries and merchants host changing art shows and late night shopping every third Saturday of the month. For information please call Ann at (530) 626-1444.

MAY 18th, Hangtown Classic Car Show, 9AM to 3PM. Back by popular demand is the Hangtown Classic Car Show on Historic Main Street, Placerville. Co-sponsored by Placerville Lions Club, Mother Lode Lions and the Placerville Downtown Association. Participation is limited by the number of spaces available for pre-1972 classic cars. JUNE 28th, Bell Tower Brewfest, 6PM to 9PM. This popular Placerville event will be hosted again by downtown merchants and will include a street closure for added enjoyment and safety for all patrons. Entertainment will be provided by blues giant Ron Thompson & The Resistors, zydeco by Mark St. Mary and local favorite, Uncommon Ground. If you are interested in sampling over 35 different micro-brews, tickets will need to be purchased for patrons over 21 years of age. Tickets are limited and expected to sellout before that evening, so plan on getting them early. They will go on sale in late May for $30 at River City Bank, Tony Matthews and The Winesmith in Placerville . Or, tickets can be purchased in May online with a credit card at www.placerville-downtown.org . JUNE through OCTOBER, Saturdays as shown below, Jazz or Blues in the Plaza, 1PM – 4PM, at the Fountain Plaza Courtyard on Historic Main Street. Come tap your toes to some great jazz or blues music with a new featured band every time. Admission is free. This year’s dates for 2008 are 6/14, 6/28, 7/12, 7/26, 8/9, 8/23, 9/6, 9/20, 10/4, 10/18. JULY through OCTOBER, Wednesdays, TBA, Wednesday Night Farmers Market, 5PM-8PM? This event is in the planning stages and we hope to be able to host fresh produce and flower booths from local farmers on Historic Main Street near the Bell Tower. Info to follow.

AUGUST 10th, Craft Faire, 8AM - 3PM in Historic Downtown Placerville. Main Street closes to host the 12th Annual Craft Faire with over 100 artisans from all over the West featuring pottery, woodwork, quilted and decorating items, dolls, garden items, soaps, candles, jewelry, food, and much, much more. SEPTEMBER 28th, Antique Street Faire - 8AM to 3PM in Historic Downtown Placerville - The 20th Annual Antique Street Faire closes Main Street to host over 100 antiques & collectibles peddlers for this huge event. OCTOBER 5th, Hangtown Jazz Jubilee, 11AM – 5PM. Jazz bands will entertain inside merchant locations on Historic Main Street for this popular musical event. Parade, costume contests and more. For info call (530) 622-8186.

OCTOBER 18th, Art & Wine Festival, 6PM – 9PM. Over 35 foothill wineries will offer samples of their wines inside merchant locations on Historic Main Street in Placerville. In addition, the works of many local artists will be on display for this wonderful art & wine walk. Music, art demonstrations & hors d’oeuvres, too. OCTOBER 31st, Trick or Treat on Main Street, 4PM to 6PM in Historic Downtown Placerville. Historic Main Street merchants will provide goodies to trick-or-treaters (while supplies last) in a safe and convenient environment. Sponsored by Historic Main Street merchants. NOVEMBER 28th, Festival of Lights, 5:30PM – 8PM on Historic Main Street in Placerville. The old-fashioned festivities will close Historic Main Street and begin around 5:30PM at various locations up and down Main Street with music, entertainment, Santa, stagecoach rides, Holly Jolly Trolley rides (to outlying parking lots), and the tree-lighting at 6PM at the Courthouse.
