Oktoberfest in August? Why not?
The Placerville Downtown Association is having a Party with a Purpose on August 6th, 2018
The Wiener Dog Races are a huge part of our annual celebration of Oktoberfest. Hundreds gather to witness the cuteness of these small dogs racing to the finish line on Main Street. For years, the Downtown Association has been wanting to have bleachers to allow more people the joy of watching this event. This year we are doing something about it and we are going to have fun doing it. Powell's Steamers on Main Street is hosting an event with proceeds going to the Downtown Association for the purpose of acquiring bleachers. The Karl Lebherz Band will be performing, German beer will be on tap and a special German menu will be available for this one night only event.
Awww... They are so cute, but only a few can see them. Bleachers would fix that!
Stammtisch El Dorado, the community's German Club, believes in the Wiener Dog Races and they have become a major supporter of the effort to raise funds for the bleachers. You can meet members of the Stammtisch at Powell's on August 6th and learn about their club and membership opportunities.
Imagine the viewing opportunities that bleachers will provide. If you can't come to the August 6th event, you can contribute directly by clicking on this link and using paypal. You can also become a sponsor of the Oktoberfest event in September by contacting the PDA at 530-303-8186 or by email at [email protected]
