  PDA wins "FLEX YOUR POWER" Award - May 2007
The Placerville Downtown Association is one of the major award winners in the Flex Your Power awards in the category of Energy Efficiency! There were 40 major awards this year and 32 Honorable Mentions from entries all over California.The category of Energy Efficiency is defined as "Efforts to reduce total energy (electricity and/or natural gas) consumption through the installation of energy-efficient equipment, lighting and appliances or through the completion of energy-efficient building retrofits or new construction projects. The Placerville Downtown Association won the award because of the new energy efficient lights that were installed along the tops of the buildings downtown. The awards banquet was held in San Francisco on Saturday, May 5, 2007. |

and proceeds from fundraising events go towards the promotion
of numerous community events and activities that include
the Antique and Craft Fairs, Art & Wine Festival, Jazz
in the Plaza, Trick or Treat on Main Street, Festival
of Lights, Placerville Police Cadets Program, and many
other events and holiday activities on Historic Main
Street throughout the year. |
