Grant Fund
Grant funds and requests are administered by the PDA Finance
Committee. The two primary tasks of the Finance Committee are:
- To determine the best investment vehicles for existing
general PDA assets,and
- To manage the allocation and expenditure
of funds received from developers of the Placerville “Wal-Mart” project
in 2001.
The $150,000 grant was awarded to assist downtown merchants
in marketing themselves as a unique shopping and commerce district.
Since then, the Finance Committee has met regularly to review
requests/proposals made by PDA members on how best to spend
these funds. Successful requests in previous years include
permanent brick entrance signs with interchangeable events
placards, streetlight banners, and various targeted advertising
campaigns. The current balance of the grant fund account is
presented at the monthly PDA Meeting.
