Iron Willow
Gallery & Studio
Visiting Iron Willow is an art lovers dream. Showcasing the talents of more than twenty local artists, most everyone will find something to their liking. The gallery features 2D and 3D art including paintings, photography, metal, clay, and bronze sculpture, art made with recycled and found objects, pottery, unique jewelry, hand-crafted furniture, home décor and garden art. We also offer design services for homes and businesses and we work closely with interior designers on their projects as well.
The gallery is owned and operated by Tom and Barbara Tankersley. This is their third gallery on Main Street. They also had a gallery and coffee house in New Mexico for a short time, but returned home to Placerville in 2008. The couple is very happy to be back in their hometown and back on Main Street. The small town atmosphere and close relationships they’ve built over the years is what makes going to work a joyful experience for them. Much of Tom’s iron work can be seen around town and one of his highly-collected stage coaches is in the El Dorado County Historical Museum.
The studio space will open beginning in January 2012. Most every Friday and Saturday Tom Tankersley will be demonstrating his newly developed clay which requires no firing. The clay will also be available for purchase. Other teaching artists can inquire about renting the studio space for their classes.
All the artists in the gallery have exceptional and unique talents which creates an eclectic, inviting atmosphere where people love to return to again and again. Please visit our website for more information on the current artists in residence.
